The Sterling Academy is led by chef Sigve Skretting. For 10 years he was the general manager of Gladmatfestivalen (the Fun Food Festival), with great success. Gladmat has 200.000 guests every year, and shows the great culinary diversity of Rogaland, “the food county” and Norway in general.
Sigve Skretting has previous experience as a cook, chef and sales manager. He has also run a restaurant as well as an outlet for large household appliances. He was Master of the Chefs’ Guild from 1993 to 2001 and Vice-President of the Norwegian Association of Chefs from 1999 to 2003, in charge of all international contacts.
Skretting has also been responsible for a number of professional projects under the auspices of Innovation Norway, Rogaland County Authority, the County Governor’s Farming and Forestry Office in Rogaland and Stavanger Municipality.
